Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is a comparative analysis of the phenomenon of a new class – the bureaucracy in the works: "The Suede Jacket" by Stanislav Stratiev and "Diaboliada" by Mikhail Bulgakov. Both writers show the negative face of the bureaucratic machine, which is placed at the service of the socialist ideology. The negative features of bureaucracy: ideologization, collectivization, absolutization of power, thought control, strong hierarchism. The bureaucrat without identity is the representative of a new class. The bureaucrat’s language is saturated with official rhetoric, in which there are hidden the mechanisms of power.
