Doświadczenia uchodźstwa i emigracji w polskiej literaturze dla dzieci i młodzieży na obczyźnie. Rekonesans

Abstract

Artykuł dotyczy wybranych aspektów oryginalnej, powstającej poza granicami Polski, twórczości literackiej z czasów uchodźstwa (1939–1945) i emigracji (po 1945 r.). Stanowiła ona ważną część polskiego piśmiennictwa na obczyźnie po 1939. Poruszała wiele istotnych problemów egzystencji Polaków przebywających z przymusu lub wyboru poza granicami kraju. Jednym z najbardziej intrygujących i wbrew pozorom nieoczywistych problemów tej literatury było doświadczenie uchodźstwa i emigracji, a więc wojennej tułaczki i późniejszego pobytu na obczyźnie – mimo zakończenia działań wojennych.

Th e article pertains to Polish literature created in exile, addressed to a young recipient, which is still poorly recognized fi eld of research. It is worth noting that it constituted and important part of Polish literature in exile aft er 1939. It brought up many crucial problems of the existence of the Poles living out of necessity or choice outside their mother country. One of the most intriguing and, against all appearances, unobvious problems put forward in this literature was the experience of refugeeism and emigration, that is war homelessness and subsequent stay abroad – despite the end of war. Th e authors of this literature had a very diffi cult task as they were forced to keep returning to questions about the signifi cance of living abroad, about the motherland of young Poles scattered to the four winds, and about the probability of coming back home.
