The article highlights the ratio of Polish nationalists to Catholicism and changes in the Church. National movement in Poland is critic to that changes. Some of nationalistic organizations choose sedevacantism, other accept teaching o Vaticanum Secundum, but reinterpreting it. For example nationalists consider democracy as a threat, and referring to John Paul II try to popularize the personalistic vision of democracy. They are against progressive tendencies and favor conservative solutions. Teaching of John Paul II is more conservative than teaching of ecumenical council – but his evaluation by the nationalists is also ambiguous. The nationalists thought is present to accept the views of the polish Pope on the freedom of the individual and the overwhelming criticism formulated by him demands the abolition of the death penalty. |
