Humanistyka i polityka. Wprowadzenie

Abstract

The text is an introduction to the volume: "Humanities and politics. Is everything political?". The authors diagnose the process of disseminating such categories as "politics", "politicalness", "political", trying to understand what areas of humanistic reflection were adapted by the political turn and in which fields it took over the reflection. The interpretations and explanations of the studied reality that are determined in this way fit into a certain horizon of the obviousness of modern humanities and permanently settled as tools and interpretative keys used for bringing closer various diverse phenomena. Meanwhile, in the "logic" of many of these approaches, the humanities were to constitute a critical perspective, in which the obvious was to be exposed, challenged and criticised. Therefore the question arises, whether sometimes too simplistic, automatic and overused application of political references and reduction of all analyses to the level of politicalness is not excessive simplification? Don't other interesting causes, courses and effects of phenomena escape us this way? Among others, doesn't it hurt analyses of political spheres, reduced to a simple evocation of what's political and enclosed in simple spells developed on the ground of humanities, and now self-affirming themselves? Therefore, the volume presented to the reader poses a question about the condition and role of politically engaged humanities and about their possible consequences.

Tekst stanowi wprowadzenie do tomu: „Humanistyka i polityka. Czy wszystko jest polityczne?”. Autorzy diagnozują proces upowszechniania takich kategorii jak „polityka”, „polityczność”, „polityczne” próbując zrozumieć jakie obszary refleksji humanistycznej zaadaptował zwrot polityczny i nad jakimi polami przejął refleksję. Tak wyznaczane interpretacje i wyjaśnienia badanej rzeczywistości wpisały się w pewien horyzont oczywistości humanistyki współczesnej i na stałe zagościły jako narzędzia i klucze interpretacyjne służące przybliżaniu rozmaitych, zróżnicowanych zjawisk. Tymczasem w „logice” wielu z tych podejść humanistyka miała stanowić perspektywę krytyczną, w której to, co oczywiste, miało być odsłaniane, podważane i krytykowane. Powstaje zatem pytanie, czy czasem nie nazbyt proste, automatyczne i nadużywane stosowanie odwołań do polityki i sprowadzanie wszelkich analiz do poziomu polityczności, nie jest nadmiernym uproszczeniem? Czy nie umykają w ten sposób inne interesujące przyczyny, przebiegi i skutki zjawisk? Czy nie tracą na tym m.in. analizy sfer politycznych, sprowadzane do prostego wywoływania tego co polityczne i zamykania ich w prostych zaklęciach wypracowanych na gruncie humanistyki i obecnie samopotwierdzających się? W przedstawianym czytelnikowi tomie postawione zostaje zatem pytanie o kondycję i rolę politycznie zaangażowanej humanistyki oraz o ewentualne jej konsekwencje.
