| dc.description.abstract | The article discusses the presence of Plato in Poland including the presentation of the reception of Plato's texts and the teaching about Plato in Poland, the description of the influence of Plato on literature and science and finally an interpretation of Plato's philosophy. The platonian elements present in Renaissance humanists' works are also discussed. This is followed by the discussion of the increase of interest in the founder of Academia reflected in poetry of that period as well as the 19th and 20th century research on Plato conducted by Polish phílosophers and historians. The test is supplemented with a selection of studies devoted to Plato published in Poland after 1945 and a list of the latest translations of Plato (since 1945). | |
