Abstract
The aim of this article is to present the idea of international unifi cation of the law of obligations and eff orts for its realization in the interwar period. Firstly, the author presents the history of the Franco-Italian project Code of obligations and contracts of 1927 and the particular role he played in the unifi cation of the Polish law. Further attention is devoted to developing methods for comparative studies of law in the interwar period. Subsequently the author focuses on the collaboration of Italian and German lawyers, whose single purpose was to harmonize the law of contract in the spirit of national-socialist and fascist. Final remarks are devoted to the Slavic countries cooperation in the fi eld of unifi cation of the law of obligation.
