This article discusses the changes which influenced the upbringing of children in Orthodox Jewish families during the interwar period. It presents the predominant styles of upbringing and family relations. Furthermore, the article outlines educational methods and practices, which were used to achieve a desirable educational ideal in the face of modernist transformations, assimilation processes, growing anti-Semitism, and the aggravating economic crisis during the Great Depression during the 1930s.
