Abstract
St. Frumentius made many converts to the faith in Christ and the Christianity became the official religion of Ethiopia. The traditional links with the Copts of Egypt explains the Ethiopian’s Church rejection of Chalcedon. The monastic tradition was introduced into Ethiopia and the monasteries became important intellectual and spiritual centers. This Church reached its zenith in the 15th century. The Ethiopic community is present in the Holy Land and preserves several Jewish practices.
