The aim of the paper is to show how the same event – the trial and crucifixion of Jesus from Nazareth – can be seen from various points of view. The author analyzes selected works devoted to the trail of Jesus, written by prominent historians and lawyers, in searching for an answer to a question whether the different perspective of view, which is dependent on the profession of the writer, leads to a different establishment of historical truth and different assessment of that truth. Author takes into consideration opinions of writers about the credibility of the historical sources, especially Gospels, for reconstruction of the real course of the Jesus’ trial, the scope of competence of offices that run the trial, the content of the criminal charges and procedural errors. Author ’ s general conclusion is that the perspective of view is essential for the answer to the questions who is responsible for the Jesus’ crucifixion and how much one can trust the Gospels in this issue.en
