Abstrakt:
This paper is dedicated to initial ponderings of textological and philological nature which formed the basis for preparing the descriptive label of a new historical manuscript included in the collection of the Historical Museum in Białystok, chamail, representing one of the most common types of the Tatar manuscript in the form and status of a prayer book. The observation of the manuscript and the identification of its content allowed the scholars to draft a description regarding the external and internal form of the literary relic; its textual content and also to form some initial findings regarding its age and characteristic graphical and spelling features of Slavic and Arabic language layers.
