The aim of the paper is to present the life and works of Leo Gomolitzky (1903-1988) in the context of borderland, the category understood as the meeting of two culture system, their dialogue and mutual influence.Born in Russia, but lived in Poland since 1920, Gomolitzky was the Russian poet, one of the most important representative of Russian diaspora in Poland before The Second World War. After 1945 he resigned from poetry to prose, from Russian language to Polish and become a part of Polish contemporary literature. The category of bordeland, taken in genological sense, also plays an important role in Gomolitzky’s works: many of them are situated between tradicional literary genres. |
