Czas wolny jako narastający problem pedagogiki społecznej XXI wieku - wyzwania dla kształcenia pracowników socjalnych

Abstract

Zaprezentowany tekst posiada charakter artykułu przeglądowego. Wykorzystano w nim wyniki studiów teoretycznych oraz analiz prac empirycznych koncentrujących się na problematyce czasu wolnego jako istotnej kategorii pedagogiki społecznej. Skoncentrowano się na ukazaniu znaczenia czasu wolnego oraz wyzwań jakie niesie on dla praktyki pedagogicznej oraz pracy socjalnej. Omówiono wybrane uwarunkowania w zakresie dostępu do czasu wolnego zwracając szczególną uwagę na najmłodszych (dzieci i młodzież) oraz najstarszych jego dysponentów (seniorzy). Ukazano znaczenie odpowiedniego przygotowania pedagogów i pracowników socjalnych do animacji w obszarze czasu wolnego.

The analysis of free time as a social phenomenon indicates its important transformations that have occurred in the last few centuries. The dynamics of transformations which free time was subject to during this period is still one of the essential features characterizing this phenomenon. Although today its quantity, and the way in which it is utilized, is not subject to such simple differentiation as it was fairly recently, nevertheless its relation with the social situation of a human being and the preferences of participation in the broadly understood culture are still valid. It also seems justified the opinion saying that the situation in this regard will not change and will continue to characterize the coming decades of the 21st century. What is more, the progressing civilization processes will generate new challenges resulting from the distribution of free time that does not follow the simple classifications used in the past. Thus, the problems that are and will be generated by leisure should be an area of special interest to social pedagogy - both in the dimension of scientific analysis and social practice. It also cannot remain indifferent to leaders organizing education in the fields of "social work" in higher education institutions, the graduates of which fulfil their everyday professional duties and face challenges that arise from the free time of the persons under their care.
