Ochrona zabytków na podłożu papierowym przed mikroorganizmami i owadami

Abstract

Ochrona zabytków na podłożu papierowym przed biodeterioracją polega przede wszystkim na zapewnieniu prawidłowych warunków ich przechowywania, a w szczególności odpowiedniego mikroklimatu (RH 35-50%, 14-18OC, częstotliwość wentylacji: 0,2 wymiany na godzinę, częstotliwość cyrkulacji powietrza: 2 wymiany na godzinę) oraz porządku i czystości w magazynach. Konieczna jest troska o stan techniczny budynku i eliminacja źródeł jego zawilgocenia. Odkurzanie zbiorów powinno odbywać się co 5 lat przy użyciu odkurzaczy z filtrami HEPA. Stężenia aerozoli grzybowych w magazynach książek lub archiwaliów nie powinny przekraczać 200 jtk/m3. W artykule podane są metody oceny aktywności mikroorganizmów i żerowisk owadów oraz aktualnie polecane sposoby walki z nimi, takie jak stosowanie atmosfer ubogich w tlen, pułapki monitorujące, liofilizacja i in.

The protection of paper-based cultural heritage against biodeterioration consists mainly in providing proper conditions of preservation, especially appropriate microclimate (RH 35-50%, 14-18OC, ventilation rate: 0,2 air change per hour, air circulation rate: 2 changes per hour) as well as order and cleanliness in repositories. The attention should be given to the technical state of the building and to elimination of the sources of its humidification. The cleaning of the collections should be held every 5 years using vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters. The concentration of fungal aerosols in the repositories preserving books and archives should not exceed 200 cfu/m3. The article presents methods of estimation of the microorganisms’ and insects’ activity as well as currently recommended procedures of fighting against them, such as anoxia, insect monitoring traps, freeze-drying and others.
