Abstract:
The article presents the newest tendencies in editing Old Polish handwritten texts. They are applied to religious literature of Grand Duchy of Lithuania’s Tatars, especially to a planned edition of Tatar tefsir. Thus, its critical edition should include the modern achievements in the matter of editing Old Polish texts. Such edition should contain a full text of such handwritten relic, which is its Slavic layer in transliteration and transcription and Oriental layer – transcription of Arabic text and/or Turkish. Eventually such edition should be enriched with commentaries pointing to the source of translation, dependence of Eastern religious literature, including Turkish and Persian translations of Quran and translation of Oriental layer. It would give wider textological perspective. Moreover, it should contain current linguistic commentary and also historical and literary commentary.
