Abstrakt:
Time and space belong to substantial elements of the world presented in the magic folk tales (T 311). Their existence is signalled already by the introductory sentences - initial formulas introducing the listener (the reader) into some not clearly defined reality. Time flow in this reality is not subject to the physical or biological laws However, temporal changes do exist in the magie folk tales, and they are signalled in the linguistic layer as well as by distinct delimitations between the successive events. Each event takes place in the time period, limits of which are precisely defind. In this way time reveals its segmentary character. Similar situation is with fairy space - only the most important for the action points have be en distinguished. They are valued according to the figure who dominates in them. In this way three-level spatial structure corresponding to the popular triad, the hell - the earth - the heaven, is created. The first layer is determined by the figure of antagonist, the second - of the protagonist, the third - of the donor. The central point of the complex space is the forbidden room placed in the brigand's house. There the most important for the action events take place, Primary importance of the secret room is underlined by the suggestive description of its inside what is not typical for the folk tales. Underfiniteness of time and space in the tales (T 311) together with the distinctiveness of their particular points allow for the clear outline of characters and events placed in them.
