dc.description.abstract Polish businesses more and more often commission studies, as well as participate in an intrasector comparison of results concerning both employee engagement and satisfaction. Human capital is perceived as an element of a competitive advantage. Scientific research indicates that there is a direct influence of employee satisfaction and engagement on the business performance. The article constitutes a case study which aims at showing the way how to use employee satisfaction and engagement results to improve a large company, NEUCA S.A. The study concerns the employees of the projects office. Furthermore, the article indicates the determinants of employee engagement, describes the undertaken streamlining activities and shows how they affect business results in the area of project management. The case study corresponds with the results found in the literature concerning this subject. It also shows good practices which can be used in large businesses.
