Abstract

Places and people in the “memory” of Stanisław Pigoń and their influence on literary interests of the scientist The purpose of this article is to explore the places and people who had played an important role in the life of an outstanding literary historian Stanislaw Pigoń. To consider this issue I have used his memoirs source, for example: Z Komborni w świat. Wspomnienia młodości, Mistrz i uczeń: korespondencja wzajemna (1914 – 1936), Korespondencja wzajemna (1952 – 1968), Dialog korespondencyjny (1958 – 1968). The analysis of the memories materials has shown that his home and school, also the university and the people associated with these places had a significant role in the formation and development his literary interests. Thanks to these institutions and people who had framed his interests, he was able to convey the knowledge and experiences to next generations of young people during his work at the Jagiellonian University.
