Abstract

Drużbin, now a small parish situated on the edge of the diocese of Włocławek, is not only one of the oldest parishes in the Sieradz Land, but also prides itself on being the birthplace of one of the greatest of his era bishops Jacob Zadzik (1582–1642), Bishop of Chelmno, Cracow, and great Chancellor of the Crown, the founder of the local church. This article describes the development of the territory of the parish and the history of each village in the parish. It also gives the size of the parish and individual towns from 1505 to modern times. It is also important to provide the parish belonging to the administration of church and state over the centuries. The latter information will help further archival research directions.

Drużbin, obecnie niewielka parafia położona na krańcu diecezji włocławskiej, jest nie tylko jedną z najstarszych parafii w ziemi sieradzkiej, ale także miejscem urodzenia jednego z najwybitniejszych biskupów swej epoki Jakuba Zadzika (1582–1642), biskupa chełmińskiego, a następnie krakowskiego i wielkiego kanclerza koronnego, fundatora tamtejszego kościoła. Niniejszy artykuł opisuje kształtowanie się terytorium tej parafii oraz dzieje poszczególnych wsi. Podaje także wielkość parafii i poszczególnych miejscowości od 1505 r. do czasów współczesnych. Ważne jest także podanie przynależności parafii do administracji kościelnej i państwowej w ciągu wieków. Te ostatnie informacje ułatwiają kierunki dalszej kwerendy archiwalnej.
