Abstrakt:
The article is an attempt to interpret Galina Kuznetsova’s The Grasse Diaryas a literary text, i.e. as a whole, closed and complete with regard to the content and serving an aesthetic function due to the clear organization of the linguistic material. The Grasse Diary contains various manifestations of literarisation; they can be observed at the level of syntax, lexis, composition, in the use of novel tricks (forms of praesens historicum, indi-rect speech), in the lirization of nature descriptions, etc. The level of aestheticisation of the Diary as a whole varies; next to entries of clear literary origin there are notes resembling an unemotional and laconic report, not intended to evoke an aesthetic experience, but to recount, preserve the everyday life. Still other entries are close to a critical literature review. Coexistence of various stylistic trends is a signifi cant feature of the Diary’s poetics and the source of its literariness. With regard to the analysed text one can then speak of a “contra-dictory” concept of literariness, suggested by Edward Balcerzan. According to this concept, “[...] the qualifi er of literariness is hidden in the relationships between the elements of the text, in splits, quarrelings, dramatic cracks and divisions into A and not-A”.
