Abstrakt:
The article describes the thermal and pluvial extremity of years, seasons, months and pentads in Wroclaw between 1791 and 2010. The source data consists of homogenized, average (totals) daily and monthly temperatures and precipitation. The greatest extremity of thermal and precipitation conditions in Wroclaw in given period had been occurring mostly in the first half of the 19th century and, slightly less, between 1911 and 1950. A significant extremity of the thermal conditions had also happened during the three decades of 1981-2010. The results of this study could be used to e.g. verify the authenticity of verbal descriptions of the weather conditions of said times in many historical sources and to calibrate them, which, in the future, would allow to use historical data more precisely, in order to recognize the climate of the periods lacking any meteorological descriptions.
