People coming from Little Poland had settled in Vershina – a village located 130 km Northwards from Irkutsk, in the beginning of the 20th century. During one-hundred-year history of Vershina, the role of Polish dialect and Russian language was changing, according to the political, economical, language and cultural situation of the community. The author is considering the relationships between both codes in the domain of religion. There are different factors influencing the language and cultural situation of the group of our interest. According to the observations and results of the researches made so far, the use of two languages in the domain of religion may be considered as a kind of cultural hybrid. It is difficult to predict the future of both religious languages in Vershina, but the present state shall survive for at least several years.
