Kremacja w rozwoju historycznym i nauce Kościoła

Abstract

The main theme of the article is the question of cremation. In the first part of the article the author presents the practice of cremation in pagan communities from the territories of the present-day India and in the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome. The second part focuses on the burial rituals in Israel and in the early Christian times. The third part is devoted to the “campaign” postulating the return to the pagan tradition of cremation initiated by Masonry and the French Revolution. Finally, the statements of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and documents issued by the Holy See concerning the topic are discussed.

Tematem przewodnim niniejszego artykułu jest zagadnienie kremacji. W pierwszej części artykułu autor ukazuje praktykę kremacji pośród społeczności pogańskich: tereny dzisiejszych Indii, a także kultury starożytnej Grecji i Rzymu. W drugim punkcie zostaje omówiony zwyczaj grzebalny w Izraelu oraz w początkach chrześcijaństwa. Trzecia część poświęcona jest „kampanii” na rzecz powrotu do pogańskiego zwyczaju kremacji za przyczyną masonerii i Rewolucji Francuskiej. Ostatni punkt koncentruje się na wypowiedziach Magisterium Kościoła i dokumentach wydanych przez Stolicę Apostolską odnośnie poruszanego zagadnienia.
