Abstract

The paper deals with the new Rites for Emergencies, which in its core is a sacrament for the dying and the last Holy Communion received by a Christian. The Communion as Viaticum may be distributed in either of two forms: during Mass or outside Mass. To enable the sick to receive the Holy Communion under both kinds – so that to show its deeper meaning – it is suggested to distribute the Viaticum during Mass. However, if it not possible, the second form should be used.

Wiatyk może być udzielany w podwójnej formie: podczas Mszy św. i poza nią. Aby chory mógł przyjąć Komunię św. pod dwiema postaciami – ze względu na pełniejszy znak – zaleca się udzielać się Wiatyku podczas Mszy św. Jednakże gdy różnych przyczyn udzielanie Wiatyku w czasie Mszy św. nie jest możliwe, istnieje druga forma udzielania Wiatyku poza Mszą św.
